Home page - OpenLit

The research team openLit was put together in 2003 by scholars of Modern Greek and Comparative Literature, Open and Distance Learning specialists, specialists in Educational Computing and Multimedia, most of whom teach at the Hellenic Open University, and is engaged in the research of Literary Studies in open and distance tertiary education. Our aim is to foster academic discussion on this topic by establishing dialogue with faculty in Literature Departments or Programs in selected ODL Open and Distance Learning Universities abroad, by initiating seminars, symposia, and relevant publications, and by producing experimental models of educational material. Since March 2004 our research team is operating with funding from the Hellenic Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs and the European Union, as part of the Program “PYTHAGORAS: Support for Research Teams in the Universities”.

We welcome suggestions, views and additions to our website by colleagues and anyone interested in ODL literary studies.
